The New Court's Ruling on an Old Issue
On March 18, the Supreme Court of the United States heard oral arguments for District of Columbia v. Heller, a case which calls into question the meaning of the 2nd Amendment. In 2003, six Washington, DC residents brought a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the District's Firearms Control Regulation Act of 1975 which prohibits DC residents from owning handguns and regulates the storage and handling of rifles and shotguns by lawful owners.…
